Michal Šľachta

Founder and Director

Michal is founder and leader of the Gastronomy Association. He has lot of experiences with the youth mobility projects (youth exchanges, trainings and seminars for youth workers, European voluntary service, etc.) as participants but mostly as a leader, trainer, organizer. He was a trainer in intercultural activities, human rights activities and participation activities in many different European projects, for different organizations. For more than 12 years he is working with young people, mainly with young people with special needs.

From 2012, he is working also at the Office for the plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak republic for Roma communities as Youth Work Manager and Public Grants Administrator. During the Slovak EU presidency, he was responsible for the organization of European Roma Youth Conference in Bratislava with more than 250 participants (high level politicians from all EU member countries and candidate countries, NGO’s representatives, Roma young people, experts, etc.) He is a big food lover and he loves to discover other countries and cultures through the gastronomy.

He came together with other young people with idea to found the Gastronomy Society because he believes in the power of food in connecting the people and breaking the barriers between us.

Patrik Turošík

Foreign Policy and Cooperation Manager

Patrik graduated from the University of Granada, Spain, where he studied international law and international relations. His main specialization is public diplomacy. In GASOC he is an expert covering the topic of Gastrodiplomacy and he works as a Foreign Policy and Cooperation Coordinator. He loves traveling and discovering local gastronomy at the same time. That is also his main motivation in collaboration with the Gastronomy Society.
Patrik has a considerable experience with project management and youth work, with a special focus on youth participation and intercultural development.
In addition, he works at the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic in the Department of Business Environment.
